I've struggled with anorexia and bulimia for about six years, and this is my journey to being a more energetic, happy, balanced, fit version of myself, and I hope that I can help and inspire all of you out there striving for this as well.
Going Veg?
Growing up, I’ve been raised by an amazing Mom who has always guided me in the direction of health foods, vitamins and good exercise.
My being Vegan started in March 2011, upon reading Skinny Bitch. It’s a book by two women named Rory Freedman and Kim Barnouin and you can find it here. I literally spent all night reading it a few months ago and made the switch overnight to being vegan.
I know many people who “transition” to being vegan, since it is a pretty big jump in the beginning. Considering that I have grown up in a naturally healthy lifestyle, the best way for me was to just cut these things out all together, and move into my new lifestyle right away.
It sounds hard, but it’s so surprisingly easy if yougive it a chance. With the right resources and grocery list, you’ll be set :)
Give yourself a week trying it out, and you’ll start to feel amazing. My skin cleared up, and I lost a lot of puffiness, especially in my face and stomach. My digestive system, once a total disaster from years of purging and laxative abuse, was immensely better. Within a week, my energy levels went from sedentary and depressed, to feeling full of life again.
These are some fantastic blogs, and also I’ll give you the link to ‘Skinny Bitch in the Kitch’, which is the cookbook that the same authors made after the book was published.
